Here is my comments back on your observations for some more perspective: "USF has always drawn relatively well"- see the trend- which is up and fairly well up (no data for USF before 2010 was found). "In general, AAC figures are skewed by UConn's presence"-ABSOLUTELY! And it is smart to hold it at Mohegan Sun to generate the support for the tournament. "If nothing else, the OP showed that attendance is (in general) fairly static"- Absolute numbers would agree, there have been some big programs who were strong in attendance in 2008 but have suffered 30% or more droppage by (2018)-Tenn 15,796 (8,778-44%), Oklahoma 9,963 (3,825-61%); Purdue 8,870 (6,036-32%), Duke 6,749 (4,058-40%); NC 5,142 (2,625-51%); Stanford 4,139 (2,865-31%) that have taken significant hits. This shows other schools have picked up the slack. Also, there are more "entertainment options now" as evidenced by many sports suffering attendance lag. Also, with streaming of games on FB and such, fans don't have to go to the games so to even be slightly up is still pretty impressive. I have snap shot of USF attendance and the ACC to give @KnightBridgeAZ and @triaddukefan some data for their perspective. This was the first year the NCAA listed the conference tournament attendance as a line item so no conclusion can be ascribed to the success of how those are faring. On the ACC attendance-this years NCAA stats list conference attendance history and the ACC peaked in 2007 at 3,357 per game (12 teams), then bottomed out in 2013 at 2,597 per game (12 teams), they added two powers in attendance-ND and Louisville and the trend is up to 2,900 the past two years (15 teams) Enjoy
