Katz has 4 AAC teams in right now. Seems like we might get some real opportunities in the conference for NCAA resume boosting wins. Just got to avoid losing to Tulane/USF/ECU

I know this is silly because this is December, but the love affair some people have with UCF so far is mind blowing to me. They lost to a bad Florida Atlantic team at home, and what is their best win? Alabama or Western Kentucky? UConn has a better profile than them so far.

I'm telling Andy Katz I want my couch back that I sold him after leaving us out of the field.

At this point, I have a hard time believing 4 AAC teams get in and UConn isn't one of them.

Really curious to see how we do in conference play this year. It's been a struggle in years past but I'm hoping things will be better under Hurley.

Another big OOC win sure would help too.

that's a dumber bracket than the one on espn.

how is iowa only a 10 seed??? they have 2 ranked losses and just smacked iowa state, yet isu (also 2 Ls) gets a 5 seed

Especially since UConn's NET is better (56 vs. 71) in addition to having a better win and no bad losses.

I’ve watched all the UConn games this year (obviously) and a significant amount of the other “top” AAC teams.

Y’all, I think we can do some damage in conference play.

*knocks on wood*

We can’t forget that UConn has more pure talent on its roster than any other team in the AAC.

The issue in the past was that we were outcoached and outhustled.

That’s not going to happen anymore.

On what basis do you feel UCONN has more talent than any other AAC school? I feel we have by far the weakest front court in the league. I base my feeling on how poorly our front court defense is.

I know this is fraught, but recruiting rankings mostly.

I'm not really going to get upset over having teams like UCF Cincinnati etc in these positions right now. It helps the perception of UConn when we sweep the series with UCF

Our frontcourt is pretty much, ranking-wise, on par or better than the frontcourt of pretty much every other AAC.

Ya, but UCF feasted on tastier cupcakes like Northern Kentucky and Rider. It's all about the cupcakes.

UCF is about 40 spots higher in KenPom. I'm guessing they are putting more weight into that than NET at this point in the season.

This is awful and must be based heavily on pre-season rankings. UConn would be in based on resume to date.
Lots of things, beside UConn, don't add up here.

This thread is perfect timing. Also with my rankings, take into account, KenPom uses some previous season data. So as the KenPom ratings stop using that data, my bracketology will automatically adjust as well. This is really way too early to look at bracketology, I just wanted to get my automated process fixed. I don't usually start doing this until January.

What's the weight of the different metrics?
