One good sign is they don’t seem overly reliant on metrics, which I can appreciate and helps our cause.

Reflection of the conference doing… not great in the non-con. Definitely concerning for our hopes of getting back on a top-4 line with a hot streak.

Still would take us against most teams. Whether that’s realistic or blind fandom remains to be determined.

Kind of funny that AP #9 St Johns is a 4 seed and AP #16 Wisconsin is a 3 seed

I’d be happy with most of the 2 seeds sans Houston, why important for us to avoid the 8-9 game minimum.

Order of the 16 and also regional splits. StJ should be really motivated to get that 4 to stay close to home.

St. John's though is 22 in the BPI. I know they use all sorts of metrics but this is hurting them a lot.

The committee needs to look at recent performance in the NCAAT however.

Some conferences do not fair well year after year, yet they are rewarded in season with more bids. Every season is new, but you would think that a repeated weak performance in the early OOC (i.e the Big East) which is contradicted by a repeated strong season in the postseason (the Big East) would matter a little. It would tend to show the committee overemphasizes early season metrics.

You have to count them, of course; last season is not this season; but if you repeatedly ignore what happens in March in relation to what you predict will happen, then it's time to go back to the drawing board.

2024:

Big East 10-2 .833
ACC 12-5 .706
Big Ten 10-6 .625
SEC 8-8 .500
Big 12 7-7 .500
Mount West 4-6 .400

2023:

Big East 12-4 .750
ACC 7-5 .583
Big 12 9-7 .563
Mount West 5-4 .555
SEC 9-8 .529
Big Ten 6-8 .429

2022:

ACC 14-5
Big 12 13-5
Big East 7-6
Big Ten 9-9
SEC 5-6
Mount West 0-4

3 year cumulative:

Big East 29-12 71%
ACC 34-15 69%
Big 12 28-19 60%
Big Ten 25-23 52%
SEC 22-22 50%
Mount West 9-14 39%

Boneyard consensus: We want Creighton, Marquette and St. John’s to lose to Butler and Villanova because UConn has an outside shot at winning the regular season championship.

Also Boneyard consensus: why are there consequences when Villanova beats one of the Top 4 teams?

The BE has 4 teams "comfortably" in the Tourney at the moment all between 4 & 8 seeds and Xavier is a consensus "bubble" team....so 4 or 5 BE teams in the Tourney is fine. No great BE team this year but really other than maybe the 1 & 2 seeds there's tons of parity in CBB this year.

All Texas A&M does is win, but I have a hard time seeing a team making under 50% of their twos, 31% of their threes and are also a below-average team in preventing turnovers sounding like a good recipe for long-term success in the NCAA Tournament.

I do like Wade Taylor IV, though.

I would not use the word “comfortably”. I know memories on the boneyard can be short and selective but remember what happened last year. Boneyarders thought the Big East would get 4-6. Got 3. And I believe we have the same guy representing the conference on the committee

If you think St John’s is where it is because of a Q2 loss instead of its unimpressive non conference performance I don’t know what to tell you. You’re lost.

It’s simple. The BE underperformed in Its OOC slate and is paying the price. St John’s is not being penalized for its 12-2 conference record.

This deflection does not justify your stupid logic when you argued that Creighton, St. Johns and Marquette losing to middle of the pack Big East teams was good for UConn.

UConn needs Creighton, St. Johns and Marquette to beat everyone else they play. Anyone who says otherwise should just stop posting on the topic.

St Jon’s losses to Marquette and UConn

Creighton losses to Xavier

We win out

We win co conference championship

A conference title is worth Creighton or St John’s losing A game it shouldn’t.

Thinking otherwise is idiotic

It doesn't matter much if St. John's is a 4 seed or a 3 seed for UConn. It does matter if UConn can catch them in the standings.

I am not sold that uconn is comfortably in. We might be last 4 in at this point.
