Similar to West Hartford's Tim Abromaitis at Notre Dame a couple of years ago, when he redshirted his would be Sophomore year (but played 2 exhibition games). Tim was suspended the first 4 games of his Senior season because of those 2 exhibition games he played in, then he tore his ACL 2 games after coming back from the suspension. The NCAA could have granted Tim a 6th year but could care less because ND basketball is not important enough to them.

proud to say......Farmington's Tim Abromaitis.......I grew up with him and his brother.....and yes that NCAA ruling was absolute garbage especially as they ruled in favor for a loser in Trevor Mbakwe who got suspended from his team and lost a year due to multiple arrests...

That's the biggest problem with the NCAA. Their punishments are so inconsistent that they've lost all credibility. UNC, and to a lesser extent the 'cuse, provide them an opportunity to redeem themselves a bit, but they'd really have to drop the hammer. Vacate a few titles and you'll get people's attention.
