storrs is one of the regional sites this year for this. Around 600 prospective division 1 athletes will be attending. Ranging from 2020 to 2022 graduating classes. The dates are July 22 to July 28. They are to be participating in drills, games, and sessions about college basketball. Does anyone on the BY know if fans can watch?

in storrs:
niels lane will be at session 1!
josh gray will be at session 2

assuming hurley wants to sign 3 recruits (idk what the timeline is on gilbert's decision) i'd love to see:
1. cam thomas or niels lane or andre jackson (in that order)
2. cliff o
3. lance ware or jaylin williams

"The academies take place during the NCAA Division I basketball recruiting period known as the “evaluating period” where authorized athletics staff members can “assess the academic qualifications and playing ability of a recruit,” though no in-person, off-campus contact may take place." soooo yes? until they set foot off campus, at which point staff can text/call?

>>In fact, the three players UConn is most interested in that were slated to be at the event - 2020 Noah Collier, a 6-7 power forward from Westtown School in Pennsylvania and Niels Lane, a 6-5 shooting guard from New Jersey, and 2021 Trey Patterson, a 6-7 small forward from New Jersey - aren’t expected to attend (although Lane’s name still appears on the roster for Session I).

Still, UConn’s staff will likely be in attendance at some point next week, along with head coaches from low-and-mid-major programs and probably some high-major assistants.<<

You see guys like Pete Gillen, Mitch Buonoguro & Tim Welch walking around. It’s well attended - with parents along - even if you don’t have the elite
