In a prior thread, it was pointed out by a poster that Georgetown averaged less than their 2000 seat capacity. I was looking at the number and "less than" is very polite - Georgetown averaged 963 fans per contest.

At that, they bettered Villanova (923), Cincinnati (789), Seton Hall (779), and Providence (375). For South Florida (631) the number has to be taken with a grain of salt, since the Sun Dome was closed this season for renovations.

Future Big East members UCF averaged in the 500's FWIW.

Random trivia:

Of those teams, Nova and Seton Hall hosted UConn last season. Attendance for those games? 3,206 and 2,600, respectively.

Houston and SMU both in the 530's. Memphis is better, 1335.

So many factors must to into how a team draws - how else do you explain Rhode Island, which had a truly awful season, drawing over 1000 per game??

At many schools admission to games is pre paid through student activity fees. More students would show up when it's essentially free.
