I can see Geno using this slight as a motivator for the centers when they play against any of those that ESPN did name. Maybe a certain coach that doesn't no nothing, according to Geno, had some input on this story.

UConn has been out rebounded in 5 games so far this season South Carolina 42-25, Oregon 36 -34, and Villanova 37 - 21 were all losses, while Creighton 34 - 33 and Marquette 33 - 28 were wins. The South Carolina game was the only loss where there were no players sitting out. While in the Oregon game UConn didn't have Azzi, Christyn, and Paige, the Villanova game didn't have Caroline, Olivia, and Paige. UConn also lost to Georgia Tech the rebounding was even at 37 - 37 they didn't have Azzi, Nika, and Paige. They out rebounded Louisville 37 - 32 but still lost, but played without Azzi, Nika, and Paige.

The only two games where rebounding was a weakness was South Carolina and Villanova. With the way they have been playing since the Nova loss, especially with the return of Olivia, Caroline, and now Paige I don't see many teams actually out rebounding them. Over the last 8 games UConn is out rebounding their opponents on average 41.5 to 26.5, with them avenging the loss to Nova in the Championship game by out rebounding them by 22, 39 - 17.

Did South Carolina win because of Destiny Henderson or Alijah Boston? Anyone who thin ks it's the guard should consider than Boston was regularly double and triple teamed. Of course you need both guards and forwards and a strong post is a huge plus. And I don't think rebounding was a "problem" for Uconn but we didn't match up with the best rebounding team in the game who will come back next year even stronger in my view at least in rebounding.

Good rebounders like Boston and Morrow get a lot of rebounds because 1. They’re usually in position to do so, 2. They have a strong desire to do so. A good-great rebounder does not wait/hope for the ball to come to them, they go to the ball, and do so aggressively.

A strong rebounder is needed next season if UConn plans on winning#12. Note what a strong rebounder did for South Carolina. Boston played a large part in their victory over us. She gave wcbb the blueprint for post play in the tournament. She even showed us how to cry tears of joy as opposed to the tears of sorrow last year.
