OT: NBA Gambling Scandals

Pablo Torre is on a generational sports media run(his investigative reporting on the NFL collusion case just essentially forced the resignation of the executive director of the NFLPA tonight) and his podcast on the recent NBA gambling scandals is one of the better sports podcasts I've listened to/watched in awhile. The recent Malik Beasley gambling probe kicked off his reporting and he uncovered all kinds of connections to the Johntay Porter case and a cast of side characters connected to that case. Very entertaining listen and I'm sure there will be additional parts coming soon as this story is still unfolding. Below is basically the trailer and then the full pod is just over an hour.

I listened to the Simmons pod where they talked about Pablo reporting on Belichick and his bird.

yea the Belichick girlfriend one was another good listen, other than Simmons trying to protect a Boston sports legend I don't understand his gripes with the reporting. Arguably the greatest NFL head coach of his era having his life taken over by a woman he met at 18 on a flight is a story imo, and given how she faded to the background after his reporting I think Pablo was going down a road that they were worried about.

100% and I like Simmons but he clearly was only concerned with Belichick - it was weird on his part.

This was a helluva listen - I’ve always liked Pablo but never got into his pod.
