Good game. Good crowd.

The US Navy has a strong connection with the Memphis area. Tonight's game has a good crowd.

So long as UConn is in the AAC, this is one of those games that can get strong attendance.

Did 2 school tours there. Base is much smaller than 40-45 years ago.

Memphis has a great offense but their defense is terrible....this game might go back and forth and the winner may be whoever has the ball last

I was there for basic aviation maintenance training for six months in 1994.

Millington is now home to Navy Personnel Command. Lots of staff and lots of retirees in the area.

I wish Navy was never invited. Their "gimmick" offense is going to screw Memphis and the AAC. Obviously Memphis can hang with some of the "big boys" and their traditional offense. Bur frickin Navy is just impossible to prepare for.

I know it's not a gimmick offense, but you know what I mean.

Navy lost to ND. They might be the best team in the AAC and they play tough every down. Navy doesn't owe the AAC anything.

That would imply that Memphis is "owed" something because they can defend a traditional offense.

I like seeing a strong Navy in he AAC because beating Navy shows versatility in team skill.

Let's not everyone jump to the defense of Navy. I was only talking about how hard it is to prepare for their unique offense. Not sure where versatility comes in though.

Ive seen this offense in person at Rentschler. Memphis D is toast. Next weeks rankings will be interesting.

Only way to beat Navy is to outscore them when they have a QB this seasoned and efficient. That said, they get away with a lot of cut blocking downfield that most teams would have called penalties. They have to be the most frustrating offense to face.

Not sure what's more frustrating the low blocks or late pitches

That's not what you were "only" talking about. You took that to make the point that Navy is going to "screw" the conference and because of that you wish they were never invited.

I for one will always enjoy seeing a service branch kicking ass, especially when representing our conference.

As of now, we played Navy the closest of anyone (besides ND of course) this season, and we had a realistic shot of winning that game. They are going to finish the year 10-2 at worst and are going to be in a very decent bowl. The better they do, the better our performance looks and the higher the conference profile is risen.

I get that Navy has a unique offense but to claim that Memphis could stop traditional offenses is silly. Have you seen scores of their other games? They gave up 41 to Bowling Green, 46 to Cincy, and 42 to Tulsa. Yeah, Tulsa....so to say that Navy is ruining their chances is silly. Navy is 6-1 and a solid team. It's just as likely that Memphis would have been tripped up next week vs Houston or the following week vs Temple.

They are screwing the conference but they are the better team so good for them.

As for our loss looking better because of them beating up Memphis....um....ok.

I will give credit where credit is due. Navy has held Memphis to 20 points so far, and yes Memphis did give up a ton of points to other teams...so in the end...the better team is going to win.

There...is that better? ;)
