Phi Slamma Jamma ran in to Ewing's Gtown and shat the bed against NC St. Two Hall of Famers in Olajuwon and Drexler and a stud supporting cast. Elvin Hayes' teams had to beat way more talented UCLA teams so that's not nearly as bad.

I think it may be even more interesting to see which programs have no final Fours. I was surprised that Tennessee has only 1 elite 8 and no final fours

Pitt has a final four from way back in 1941 (and a couple of Helms trophies). But the surprising thing with them is that since 1981, they've been a top four seed 10x (including two 1 seeds and two 2 seeds) and have only one Elite Eight to their name in that time.

I would've thought they at least had a final four in that period considering how tough they were against us year in and year out. There were times where I know I considered them the best team in the country. Crazy

Can we just say the big 10? No titles in 24 years I believe so if you multiply by 16 you get 384 individual seasons since last title

Not surprising when you consider they were a roughhouse gang that got away with a lot, especially when the Big East allowed 6 fouls. Didn't translate well to the NCAA tournament refs.
