And each of them will determine a conference champion:

ACC - Miami at Duke. Assuming both teams win their other remaining games, with a win, Miami would tie for the championship.

SEC - KY at LV's. LV can tie with a win, same assumption as above.

BE - ND at UConn. You know what this game is about.

Outside chance MD could get into the ACC picture if they pick up a game on Duke and also win their remaining game against Duke.

Actually, in the ACC, if Miami beats Duke, they would win the ACC on a head to head tie breaker.. And MD is currently three games behind, so they would need to pick up two games on Duke and also win the return game.

(would have edited but too late)

In terms of the ACC race.. here is how it stands

Duke 8-0. Home vs Wake, UNC, @ BC @ FSU Home vs VPI @ Maryland Home vs Miami @ UNC.

Miami 8-1. Home vs Clemson, UNC @ Maryland @ NCSU, Home vs FSU, @ Duke, Home vs BC.

I guess technically UNC has a chance.. they are third with a 6-2 record. But their remaining schedule is daunting. I cant see them winning more then 3 of these.. probably more like 2. Home vs UVA, @ Duke @ Miami, Home vs GaTech, @ FSU, Home vs NCSU, @ Maryland, home vs Duke.

Like I mentioned in another thread.... i would bet that both Duke and Miami lose at Maryland... and Duke will be 13-1 and Miami 12-2 going into the showdown on Feb. 24.

Given that Maryland just lost at home to Virginia Tech, those are bold bets. Are you thinking Md's really going to be better than Duke or Miama when playing in College Park, or is it that you are losing confidence (or perceiving self-doubts) in Duke and Miami?

Thanks. The UConn v. ND game is the monster game.

The other ones are second tier, but will greatly help to decide conference championships and seedings.

What makes that a big game? Cal has no shot at winning the conference, with 3 losses.

Affects our seeding if we lose and helps Cal get into NCAAs

IMO the only way Stanford loses the 1 seed is if they lose both that game and the Conference Tourney, and if either Duke or Miami runs the table from here. LV's are out of it with 5 losses including one to Stanford.

Very, very unlikely. Only other potential 1 seeds are Duke and Miami and I don't believe either team can run the table. Besides, a 2 seed is worst case, you will still be out west.

Do you have a lower opinion of the Pac-10 than we do?

If you lose to Cal, you lose the #1 maybe, but only if some team runs the table--Duke, Miami, or Kentucky. If you lose twice, I think the #1 is gone.

Lol. No, just going by experience. ;) agree if we lose 2 games.

No... no lost of confidence in Duke. I thought at the beginning of the season we would lose in College Park. Thats their biggest home game of the year..... will likely have in excess of 10,000 in the stands.... I assume they will have Thomas back by then... an Duke hasnt won up there since Coach G left in 2007.

As for Miami... they did lose their 3rd best player for the season a few weeks back.... 3rd leading scorer and 2nd leading rebounder... and that loss will certainly hurt them vs MD... and their front line.

Given the choice between a #1 Seed in Fresno. or a #2 seed in Raleigh.... I would much rather have the #2 in Raleigh... even though that would likely mean we would have to go through ND as opposed to Stanford.

OK drop KY at TN from the list, the SEC race is no more. Now only two more big games.

Sad that TAMU has not done their part in making the Baylor vs TAMU game a big one this year. I guess it still could be if TAMU pulls off a big upset.

If Tenn wants to win the regular or tie for the SEC championship they have to beat KY tonight. I wouldn't be surprised to see Ky lose another SEC game before the SEC tournament starts. Ky could lose to Vandy or South Carolina. If Ky wins tonight they win the SEC Regular season. As doggydaddy wrote, this is a big game for Tenn and a must win for them.

Kentucky is 10-1 in the SEC, while Tenn. is 8-3. How does Tenn. tie KY?

Tenn beats KY tonight, so Ky now has two losses. Ky then loses either the Vandy and/or the South Carolina game, which is possible. If that happens Ky has 3 or 4 losses in the SEC. Tenn wins tonight and rest of their SEC games and they only have three losses. KY is the favorite to win the SEC outright, but anything can happen in the SEC.

Kentucky is 10-1 in the SEC, while Tenn. is 8-3. How does Tenn. tie KY?

Right, it is huge for Tenn. If they lose, forget about the conference standings; they will have 8 losses.
