Knew they were close but didn't know they were brothers. Guess this makes even more sense now.
Not brothers by blood, just close enough where he considers him a brother. Heron is half brothers with Raheem Solomon who is a freshman at Niagara.

He's a NYC kid, lives with Heron's dad and plays for Sacred Heart. Knew he was Johnny bound, Bryan Heron and the Rens guys aren't exactly UConn fans.
Any explanation why the Heron's are not UConn fans?

This is a little off the thread topic, but there was a St John's fan that called WFAN and compared this years St John's team to the 2011 UConn team with Pond's being Kemba. Pond's is no Kemba. Even if he was they don't have a Lamb or Napier on that team.

Ahhhhhhhh yes... and of course the moron sports radio callers have their day of spewing absolute nonsensical b.s.

St. John's just got their first - FIRST - win this year against anything resembling a good team this week, at home, when they beat a decent but perpetually soft team in Marquette.

Sure, Ponds is a nice player, and we would certainly take him on our team this year. But any comparison to Kemba is so far beyond idiotic its pathetic.

As memory serves, by this point in 2010-2011 Kemba had already led us to a Maui Invitation title with a tour de force 3-game performance including the semi-final win over a then #2 ranked Michigan State and that wonderful memory of a blow out against Calipari and his merry band of over-rated 5-stars from #9 ranked KY.

And then of course add to that one of the 2 or 3 best post season performances anyone has EVER had, which led to an improbable 5-wins-in-5-days conference tournament title followed up by a National Title and any comparison of the amazing Kemba to a guy who has won absolutely NOTHING but 12 non-descript early regular season games is so hyperbolic that it is absolutely MORONIC.

Pretty much the same level of moronic as when some rocket scientist at Syracuse in 2014 got the brilliant idea of printing up t-shirts commemorating their "historic" 25-0 start to their season... Of course we printed up t-shirts that year as well, but only because we were commemorating our 4th NATIONAL TITLE

Yeah pretty much RIP St. John’s hoops with loss of Ponds and the big recruiter. This was their year to make hay.

They’ always have some good years bc where located but they could have become relevant this year with a monster year and it was set up.

St. John's had a pathetic year of underachievement. They had so much talent and couldn't do anything with it.
They will look back at this year as a hugely missed opportunity.
I'd reconsider if I'm Tabor. I don't rate Mullin whatsoever.
