Fellow BY'ers, get used to seeing this name attached to this weekly award. Also wouldn't surprise me to see her as the AAC POY. She's quietly good.
Hey Tony, You didn't have to take a single step out on that limb to make THAT prediction. Anyone with eyes can see the truth in that one. The numbers speak for themselves. You can argue opinion, you can't argue facts. We're almost a third of the way through the season. Collier is playing at an AA level thus far. I see no reason why she can't continue to play at this level, especially since the level of competition will drop when play resumes after the Christmas break. As Javaman observed in his comment above, Collier is doing this against ranked teams.
I apologize for my forward thinking here. It's never a good idea to look beyond your next game, but I am a seer. I've been on a run lately of making some predictions that came true. This one is not a reach. When (not if) Collier receives 1st team AA status/recognition, that will clear the way for her jersey to one day far down the road to find its way onto the wall in Gampel (The Huskies of Honor). You know she's only going to get better.
Can you imagine for a moment the numbers/stats she's going to be putting up as a senior? Once again, (we've seen it many times before) we're looking at greatness in the making again. We just watched the BIG 3 for four years grow and mature into one of the greatest, most accomplished classes in WCBB history. Well, here we go again, now and for the next 5 years at least (Collier & others). Geno and staff have got some potential super stars back stage that will be making their mark on WCBB soon. It sure is fun being a UConn women's basketball fan.
