Did I just watch two different UCONN players have more points (on fewer shots) more rebounds, more assists, fewer personal fouls and fewer turnovers than a consensus first team All-American? Just askin'

I think Mitchell just wore out in the second half. She carried her team in the first half (her and Cooper) but when you have multiple capable scorers on the same team, they can take turns scoring and won't tire out as easily.

You sure did..........Mitchell make have the superior shooting range but she is a streaky volume shooter and somewhat overrated as far as I'm concerned

I don't think she's overrated. She's a baller for sure and worthy of her pre-season AA. OSU like many others has no shortage of talent, but hasn't yet put it together as a team. Geno builds teams better than anyone.

She is very talented but undisciplined and streaky..............I'll take a somewhat less showy player who mostly makes the right decisions..................

They are both phenomenal.

I thought Lou was a little out of sinc early but actually a great hustle play by Butler on a rebound got her a look for an open three that she nailed and that helped get her in the flow. Amazing how she can score in bunches and she did just that in the third period, game over.

She is taking about 20 shots a game recently and of necessity to the team they will not all be high percentage shots. A lot of threes but showed her versatility on midrange pull-ups and drives. Posted her up a bit as well, wish they would do more of that.

Thought Lou and the rest of the team looked a bit gassed in the fourth quarter. She missed some shots she normally makes and I think her legs may have not been totally under her. Hopefully Saniya will be back soon, and that Molly and Kyla earn more trust from Geno.

Re Mitchell, great job in second half as defenders - mostly Crystal and Gabby, some Kia - Played her tight and if she was driving, another player, often Napheesa, would run at her and double team. Geno will rarely let one player on the other team control the entire game.

Maya ranks 1, 2, 3, and 4 on the list. THAT's domination!

I believe that Lou and Pheesa got to 406, just 2 buckets short.

BTW, Tiffany Hayes was pretty darned good too.

Lou is at 20.4 ppg; Napheesa is at 20.2. The great Breanna Stewart hit 19.4 in her two best seasons. Tina Charles topped out at 18.2 ppg.

OK, now these two are beginning to move into some every serious and hollowed territory here. They have placed themselves among some "legends" in UConn lore. I truly hope they can continue on this pace. Agree or not, I think BOTH of them are playing at "ALL America" levels through the first 10 games, and they're doing it against top ranked teams, not cupcakes, Twinkies or teams that are soft. THAT should be noted.

The top 4, Maya, Breanna and Diana were all in their senior year (not Kerry),
and Katie Lou/ Naphessa are only in their sophomore year.

Some BY's are starting to refer to these two as "The twins". They're always together (they're roommates), and they're always laughing and smiling. It looks to me that they are really enjoying their stay in Storrs.
And...they did a lot of hanging together before they ever got to Storrs.

I sort of wonder if the speed with which these two bonded as freshman might have had an affect on Boykin's first few months - that she might have felt more of a third wheel especially as she wasn't able to practice or play with her injury. Not trying to place 'blame' as i don't think there is any, just don't recall two players in a class that clicked quite so quickly/strongly.

Samuelson, Collier and Boykin teamed up for the USA and claimed gold at the 2014 Youth Olympic Games, a 3x3 basketball event before entering UCONN. So at least Katie Lou and Naphessa had an early bond that has continued to develop and grow.

Like everyone, I'm thrilled with the rapid growth of these two players...........I wonder if this season will be their biggest as UConn will have much more offensive firepower next year which should lighten their need to shoulder the scoring burden.......................

Stewie averaged 19.4 ppg as a sophomore and as a senior. As a junior, her average dipped a bit. Why? Lots of reasons, but Kaleena being healthy may have been one of them.

I think the scoring will be more balanced next year. Azura and Meg add a lot. Meg could average 15 ppg and play the 4th quarters only. ;)
