My first ever game at Gampel

Was the NIT game vs. Detroit 12 years ago. I'm staying away tonight for the sake of not dooming the team.

Rashad Phillips, an Iverson clone, torched them that night. I was there too, my friend. I will also remember, when Detroit went through the introductions, the bench guys acted like they were patting down the starters like they were police patting down thug crooks. Nice image for your school....

I was there with my dad and a family friend, an Iona Alum. It was the spring of '97, IIRC. It was probably my 7th or 8th game.

That game was a nightmare. I remember it so clearly. Sat in the top of the student section but there was no student section because it was the NIT so it was general seating tix. Glad to see results were completely reversed tonight!

I was sitting up there too! I was 14 and my brother was a student and I felt super cool sitting over there.
