The Huskies lost three times previously to Notre Dame, but destroyed the Irish 83-65 in the national semi-finals. The finals victory over Louisville was anti-climactic. Honorable mention: 2003 with Diana Taurasi supported by an inexperienced cast and 2009 the team of Maya Moore, Tina Charles, and Renee Montgomery.
