Most QB pressures among FBS 3-4 Defensive Ends through week 7

We run a 3-man front, and two of them are in the top 6 in this category.

Those three fellas have been doing a heck of a good job, and it has gone relatively unnoticed due to the overall defensive performance. Hopefully now that the DBs are gaining confidence, it will all start to come together...

That can be a misleading stat. Ideally in a 3-4 the OLB's are getting pressure. If your DL are getting pressure in a 3-4 that means blitzers aren't getting to QB.

Wait, @Chief00 told us that we adjusted to a 4 man front this week.

Are you guys suggesting he got that wrong??? Shocking.
oh you mean the "four man front" that we ran against Holy Cross?

I understand/get your point but some seem to get caught up in nomenclature - the point is we have players (somebody/anybody) putting pressure on the pocket. This isn’t meant to be a TFL/Sack stat.

Nor is it me at to be a stat to show pressure affecting QB completion percentage.

Not busting anyone's chops.

So many QB's are mobile they are as much a threat to pass when flushed outside the pocket.

I'd be curious to see a yards per play on a pressure, QB completion percentage on a pressure and 3rd down conversion rate on pressures.

Those stats would tell me if pressure was effective or just a bunch of used up energy.

I stated in another thread how I liked both these guys. In a 4-3, I think both would stand out. A little undersized for the 3 man front but they get after it. Ormsby has been at times the only disruptor. A half step faster and he'd have like 8 or 9 sacks already.

This doesn't make any sense. We aren't pressuring anyone.

3-3-5 defenses often line up in 4, 5 or 6 man fronts. The 3-3-5 refers to the personnel. Three traditional defensive lineman, three LBs and five DBs.

On third down and long we usual go 3-2-6 and have one of the LBs rush the passer and one drop into coverage.

We typically cover the tight end on the LOS with an OLB. The joke is that people (including Chief) were claiming we didn't get out of the base alignment until Temple.

In this photograph, the 4th guy on the LOS is standing. He is a LB. The three who have their hands on the group are the three defensive lineman.
Uhh yes? What are you talking about.

You’re arguing with the wrong person... backstories are buried in other threads.
