Jim Fuller has been a busy guy. He reports from Orlando that the medical staff will make a game-time decision on whether Moriah play against Brazil later today (7pm). She injured her hand on Tuesday.

Some other tidbits from Jim's blog:
  • Moriah will leave Orlando and head directly to Storrs; Morgan and Breanna will arrive a couple of days later
  • When asked whether UConn has shown recent interest in recruiting her (after Chris Dailey's trip to Oregon), Mercedes Russell said "not really."
  • Rebecca Greenwell said she received a letter from UConn as a freshman "and that was it." She added: "I am fine, I don't think I am going to UConn anyways."

That's is extremely interesting. I'm really curious the reasons UConn would not at least pursue two highly ranked well-accoladed recruits--one of whom is the #1 recruit on nearly all recruiting evaluation lists.

Pretty blunt assessments.....

Hope Mo plays. She's so much fun to watch. Guess we'll find out in a couple minutes here.

.
Wondering if we don't have a replay of the Alana Beard foulup in some of these recruitments.

Very surprising info on Russell and Greenwell. Don't understand UConn's lack of interest but as Fuller says, Geno knows more about recruiting. Fuller is doing a pretty good job down in FL.

I wonder if with Mercedes Russell that Geno didn't see a post player as a need for 2013. He has Dolson for two more years, Kiah for three years and Breanna for 4 years. I also surmise that Mercedes and family didn't show an interest in UConn.

Geno and the rest of the coaching staff get plenty of input from AAU coaches and others when considering who to recruit and probably received an indication that they would not be a good fit at UConn. Also based on Rebecca's comment even if UConn was recruiting her, UConn would not be high on her list.
