Good news. That should end the anxieties.
Official release from UConn:
University of Connecticut women’s basketball forward Morgan Tuck has been granted a medical hardship waiver for the 2013-14 season as announced by the athletic department on Wednesday. Tuck appeared in a total of eight games during the 2013-14 campaign before being sidelined by injury and underwent two surgical procedures on her right knee. Tuck is expected to be ready for the start of the 2014-15 season and will have three years of eligibility remaining. The Bolingbrook, Ill. native averaged 7.5 points and 2.4 rebounds per game last year and scored a career-high 19 points in her final appearance of the season, a 90-40 win over Houston on January 7.
While some of the players are spending this time at home before returning to Storrs for the start of classes in late August, Morgan is still on campus rehabbing with Gabby Williams.
I was just thinking about you, nice to see you!A tip of the cap to the poster (think it is someone with Stanford ties and/or a Stanford-related handle on here) who was so steadfast and so accurate in his reassuring posts regarding the expected outcome of this situation. Sorry I can't remember your handle, but I read all of your posts on this matter and appreciated them. Thank you and stay well. Additionally, I think this is powerful news for our team.
Nothing would please me more than to see Morgan pile up 1,000+ minutes and cut down the nets at the end of her sophomore (!) season.
Many Boneyarders have projected Morgan to come of the bench in a "sixth (wo)man" role.
I'm not so sure about that. (I know I know, she's supposed to spell Kiah -- I've heard it often but just can't bring myself to buy it.)
Mainly because of nagging injuries, she has played intermittently. It is easy to forget what a terrific player she can be when fully healthy. Remember, her teammates on the USA team (U17?) elected her to be team captain for her skills and leadership. She can shoot, defend, and rebound. Definitely AA potential.

It is starting line up discussion time already? Its not even August yet....
Either Sonya or one of the freshman at 2 along with Moriah, Kaleena, Breanna, and Kiah, IMO...
Geno tends to not start freshman unless he really has to, so it may be Sonya's job to lose. Lets hope she makes the Sophomore leap a lot of UConn players make.
I don't see Geno starting Kalenna at 2, so Morgan can start in the front court, given the lack of front court depth the team has. Although it is a lineup i'm sure we will see form time to time.
Really interested to see how quick the freshman integrate into "the system." Hopefully they all pick it up quickly so they can contribute alot this year.
Are you kidding? Last year this forum was rife with who will be starting debates all summer....or was it the year before....?
