Thanks for posting the piece by Alysa. I ran across Aly's blogs years ago when she was in NYC, on her own, waiting tables and going on auditions for acting jobs. At the time my youngest niece was in the city, starting off on her career and going through many of the same "first time away from home, on her own, I can do this" trials and tribulations. Aly's blog from that time was extraordinarily well written and often quite poignant. She's a very talented writer, but it wasn't too hard to look beneath the surface of her brave words and see the same fears, insecurities and loneliness that my niece was experiencing. New York is a tough town. When that particular blog ceased after she returned to CT, I kind of lost track of her writing til she penned the beautiful tribute to Pat Summitt. She still has a way with words and seems to have found her way, although from a quick look at her blogs today, I suspect we wouldn't agree on much! Happy for her. Keep the words coming.
