On the road against Indiana, their primary East competition. Big win, indeed.Big, big win for the Sun, their second in a row on the road, where they struggled mightily last season.
I just came home from work and turned on the Sun Fever game. WOW. Monty is the best player on the floor. Amazingly good...olympic material.
I was going to mention the same thing after seeing the boxscore but...I watched the whole game and am a season ticket holder. Love the Sun, love Renee but... I don't get "Monty on fire"/"best player on the floor". 3-10, 3 TOs. She did have 5 steals but it was not a great performance by Renee in my opinion.
Who would you replace to get Renee on the Olympic team? Lindsey? Sue? Sorry man, not trying to rag on you but I don't see it.
That said... a GREAT team win on the road against a very good team.

I too was a little underwhelmed by Renee's stat line. But I didn't see this game so I will reserve judgement. From the games I've seen however, I haven't been too impressed with Renee at all this season. I'm not sure if it's her fault or rather an issue of Thibault's new role for her. It seems as if he asks her to be a chucker off the bench. She's better than that.I certainly think she has only shown regression from last season mainly because her PG duties have almost completely been taken away from her.
As for this game, congratulations to the Sun on a seemingly hard-fought win. It looks like the Eastern conference is going to be a tight race this year.
All good points Scotter. And chucking may be a part of her game, but when you're missing so many of those shots as she is this season, you're led to believe she should be passing it more than she is shooting it. But you're right. That's just Renee. As it is, she is averaging a couple less assists and her shooting percentages are down from last season (when she was an All Star). But the good thing is they are just 6 games into the season. This could all turn around for her as she grows more comfortable in her new role.
Small sample size, especially for something as volatile as shooting. I wouldn't be assigning causation to her role just yet.
