"Houston is a popular player, a member of the Lynx for four seasons. Very fan friendly. Helps out in the community. But her minutes were limited last season. She has some wonderful moves to the basket, but her defense has sometimes been questioned. Her ball-handling isn't a strength either.

She averaged 2.9 points and 1.7 rebounds last season and played just 7.8 minutes. All those are career lows."

Yup - I think it is primarily a numbers issue in MN for her. Writing was on the wall with the return to form of Augustus and the drafting of Maya. I think their style of play has also changed. Be interesting to see what she could do for an up tempo team like Phoenix.

I think that neither Charde nor Hornbuckle will return, just the nature of the biz. I *hope* they can hold onto Wiggins for one more year. Although she could likely start elsewhere, it's possible she could be enticed by the possibility of another championship, and maybe sign a 1-year deal knowing she will be the 6th 'man' again.

I am not sure if Monica Wright is already under contract, but I think she is. She and Wiggs are a potent pair to have on the bench depending on the night to night matchup. IMHO, Amber Harris needs to take some steps forward in her development this year, because next year Taj is probably gone and we'll only have Adair in the middle. Adair made huge strides and is solid. Another athletic 'big' like Glory Johnson might be a good insurance policy in case Amber doesn't pan out, even though Glory isn't a center. It may just be that Amber came out of college as a pretty raw talent and just needs more time, and more coaching. Reeves seems like a pretty good coach and you can't do much better than having Taj around to show you the ropes as a 'big'. Amber certainly has the size and the physical gifts, it seems.

They will probably have their pick of players like Shenise Williams, Glory Johnson, and the "game-changer" .... Sam Prahalis!! :p It will be interesting to see who they end up with. And it won't be SP.

Go Lynx!

Apropos of earlier thread in comment section:

With the #3 pick they should look at Sam Prihalis from Ohio State. Great eventual replacement for Whalen.

Huh?
