I'm glad we're getting no respect, the team needs to stay focused and feel like they need to prove themselves every day. I am a little surprised by the line, but they're SEC and they can put a lot of points on the board. Idaho looks to be pretty horrible, so not sure that score really means much other than Mizzou beat up a bad team at home. This is a clash between two good offenses and two bad defenses - let's hope our defensive improvement continues.

We were playing catch-up the last 2 weeks on a pretty brutal schedule. If the coaches have factored that into the players schedules then this 2nd week at home should gives us adequate recovery and preparation. No problem with the points as Mizzou is dangerous but they've under-achieved. Maybe they come in and lay another egg next week. If not we'll need a full 4 quarters on a rare Sat nite homegame.

I am totally in a different place with others in this thread. I thought the spread would be higher. Mizzou has a decent qb ( Lock put up 467 yds and 6 tds last week...250 yrds and 4 tds versus UGA the week before), I cant see how UConn stops them. Only option is to out score them. D is getting better, but UConn’s secondary is brutal. Strong qbs are UConn’s kryptonite.

We weren’t supposed to be able to stop Tulsa’s run game. The UGA stats are impressive but I’m losing to much sleep over what a kid does vs Idaho.

Our ability to stop the run has been generally better than stopping the pass. The minute Tulsa went pass heavy in the 4th we started getting eaten up. Progress has been made on the edge but the middle and post protection remains scarily bad. Mizzou will be gunslinging all day, and our point production has cooled off as we have shifted to less hurry up to keep the D off the field. All that said, I like our chances because the boys have some momentum and confidence. A W this week would be momentous in locking in a change in trajectory. With 4 Ws, the world looks a whole lot more conquerable. Even the B word enters the realm of possible with 4 games remaining.

I’m hoping that Lashlee and Edsall have a relationship in which they have a fairly equal role in making offensive decisions. I’m sure Rhett will see he needs to score a lot to beat Missouri because they will be throwing it all over the field. Randy can’t throttle him too much in this one. We need the D to hold their own and the offense to keep its foot on the floor.

Seeing it the same way. Wanna see UConn move the ball like in the third quarter. Can't depend on the running game. And, definitely can't depend on defense. They played better on Sat, no doubt. But the last three drives were scary and they were aweful.

Saw a quote in a story this weekend that the calls are made by Lashlee and Crocker respectively.

Once again, I don't know what to expect in this game. ESPN pointed out that Mizzou cannot win on the road and they are going to try to change that against a road game in CT this weekend. Drew Lock is getting tons of attention recently and might be one of the better QBs in the SEC.

Couple things:
1. our 3-4 record this year tastes a lot better than our 3-4 start last year. I still can't get over that Navy game.
2. Our young defensive players are learning how to play in this system quicker than I thought.
3. This team has not quit on us all year. They could have quit after getting smashed by Memphis but they just didn't. (They quit last year on Diaco.)
4. What happened to our ability to run, I feel like we haven't featured Mensah as much lately. Is Newsome okay?

Edge:
I'm going with my head on this one as Lock and Mizzou's offense will be too much against our improving, but young secondary. However, I am hopeful that UConn can pull out another W here and this would really start turning heads for the positive!

We need to score TDs inside the 5. Play action off a dive play, throw it quick and high and let one of our tall TE's grab it.

That's not in our game plan for some odd reason. Must be last hex RedPants has over us. Needs to be exorcised.

If anything, when we need to draw up a classic 3 yd Diaco play we can’t.

Can never understand why we don't use the naked reverse on the goal line with the QB carrying the ball. !!!! In fairness I see it rarely in CFB.

The UConn Missouri game may be close and if UConn fans show up in large number that could make the difference for a UConn victory. Please encourage a big turnout! Cheer on the Huskies!

Yeah. UConn isn’t ready yet. I am optimistic it will get better, but they aren’t quite ready yet for the SEC.
