The first 5 minutes of this game were pretty embarrassing for Minnesota, but they’re hanging in there.

This was rough to watch. Gopher fan here. Really tough to watch knowing that we got such an iconic coach in Whalen and knowing how hard she played, seeing the Gophers suffer like this. Not fun to watch at all.

Unfortunately, great players almost never make great (or even good) coaches

Trouble is she’s not iconic as a coach. She’s surprisingly not very good as a coach. It’s on-the-job training for her and there’s no telling how long it’ll take for her to be good, if ever.
