Mingo looks to me to have really bulked and from what I saw in the UNO game she is using her strength well in the game. Jessica appears to have increased her fitness and quickness but I think Morris and Cooks bring more physically to the post. I realize we still have not played a real quality team with size yet and believe we probably will not until conference play. I really want to see how our game looks against a quality team, sure wish the UConn game had happened. What about Jessika Carter? She's the one really killing it right now. I went from saying she was really bad against Stanford, to now thinking she's poised to really break out to possibly 1st team all SEC.
She looks almost like a different player (the most improved) from last year, and even a different one from the year before.
Well, against USF tonight, she has not been good so maybe the conditioning with show itself in the 4th quarter but as this writing, warranting her thread was a bit of a reach...This has been the biggest surprise to me. I thought Vic worked those kids hard, and he obviously did. But I have a good friend close to the program who said Nikki's biggest concern was that the girls were out of shape and not very strong in the weight room. That has been a big area of focus in the offseason and it shows. Our girls don't ever look tired and wow, they are ripped. Jamaya Mingo-Young is a stud. I love her toughness and how well she rebounds even though she's one of the smallest on the floor.
