Surprised that these two, and especially Hobbs, have not gotten more interest for open positions given how good uconn did the last two years. Particularly given that Ollie was a young, first time head coach, you would think that the assistants would have gotten a little more credit. Yet wojo and antigua get high and mid major jobs after supporting experienced HC's, neither of whom have a track record of developing good Head Coaches on their staff.

I'm convinced that it is merely a matter of time (one after next season if something doesn't happen sooner, the other three years out at the most) before we lose each of them.

Yeah, I'm totally shocked Wojo would take a job at a mid major BE school like Marquette. Nice move by Antigua taking a high major job at USF. Maybe he can eventually turn them around.

Man Nelson, even with the high of a national championship still fresh, you're still an insufferable . Congrats on that.

Don't disagree, but both are former Head Coaches. Hobbs had a run at GWU (for about 10 years) and Miller as the HC at Connecticut College, Brown, and Penn.

Hobbs took GW to the NCAA's in his earlier years (3 straight times), but went down hill after that. Miller took Penn to the NCAA's his first year but after that his teams were awful. I'm not sure anyone is clamoring for them to be HC's at this point. They are terrific assistants and recruiters, obviously, but they've both "failed" as head coaches.

Especially Miller. Great guy. We got back late Sat., close to 1AM and he was in the lobby on the PC asking for tape and said he wasn't going to bed before daylight. Give him credit, he's the guy who put the gameplan together.

So I'm not the only one that felt that was a subtle trolling job on one of our conference mates while propping up the Big East schools as "high" major?

I am not sure why you want to hijack this thread about our assistants to argue about the Big East. You hate the Big East. We get it.

And the funny thing is, USF is an awful job and Marquette is a decent job. Florida, other than UF and FSU when they are winning in football, and the Heat right now, could care less about sports, pro or college.

Call it the Dom Capers Effect. Sometimes schools, even "high profile" schools (**cough** UConn **cough**) want new blood. Both Hobbs and Miller are used goods at the head coach position. It may take a few more years for them and I wouldn't be surprised if Ricky Moore gets a shot first.

At the same time, Miller and Hobbs may not have a problem with that either. They both just collected their second ring.

Hobbs was not a good HC. I watched a lot of GW games while he was there, including during his best season in 2006, and am therefore not at all surprised that he isn't moving on to greener pastures.

He had some early success in a weak A-10 by recruiting well. His teams played frenetic, undisciplined basketball and beat other teams through superior athleticism and skill alone. It was ugly to watch (we ain't talking about a structured/intentional 40 Minutes of Hell). Once the recruiting took a dive, following a high school diploma mill scandal, and other A-10 teams reverted back to more normal strength, everything blew up on him.

I am glad to see him sitting on a UCONN bench again. But I would be shocked if he ever gets a HCing job at a decent level school ever again. It's not for him, and that's okay. Not everyone is cut out for it.

Where's Dave Leito these days? Remember when he was the heir apparent to JC?

They'll both get looks, but I'm not sure that either will be high on anyone's list at this point.

I'm on this boat - these guys have been head coaches - realized it wasn't for them - and now have found a home and a position on this coaching staff that better fits what they have to give/want to give.
