“There's no game I'm going to call 22 runs for him,” Dunn said. “A lot of that is pass plays where he scrambled. Some are [run/pass options] where they gave him an option to run instead of throw. Sometimes those numbers get high based on what the defense is giving him. Some of it is instinctual. It's certainly not all called. But as we've said all along, that’s certainly a strength of his and I don't want to tell him if he sees something not to do something, either. A lot of those carries are on him more so than the calls.
“The whole thing on pass plays is, don't cheat your read. If it's not there, take off. But don't skip it completely and look for a lane to run in. He does a pretty good job with that. But trust your read, and if it's not there and you can make something happen with your legs, do it. But we're always going to do what the play calls to do first.”<<
