Mike Anthony: Bristol Central sophomore Donovan Clingan has grown through a family’s unimaginable heartbreak.

Just finished reading. Great article, sounds like this kid has a great head on his shoulders. Lost my dad a little over 2 years ago to cancer, that kind of loss changes you at a young age. I’ll be 30 in a month, and I think about all the years he won’t be here. To lose a parent at 15/16, I can’t imagine. Best of luck Donovan

Thankfully I’ll be able to catch some games of his since he plays so close to home. FWIW the kid guarding him is 5’3” and a very good soccer player. Haven’t seen him play basketball but can change direction so quickly and is very agile and quick.

Great article about a great family. Stacy would be at 4pm mass at St. Anthony church Bristol every Saturday. With her parents, Donovan and Olivia. It was really nice to see how close the family was.
Even though selfishly I would love for him to chose UConn, I wish him the very best for whatever decision he makes.

Watched her play a lot in HS and seen her grow as a player and person every year! What a great young lady! She played against Uconn in the 1995 NCAA Tournament with the Huskies winning 105-75.

Nice story, sounds like he wants to play for Hurley especially with his dad being able to see games.

Donovan has a scrimmage at BCHS Monday around 3pm. Notre Dame staff is supposedly going to check out scrimmage. BCHS opens season next Friday at Glastonbury, then home 12/23 vs Lewis Mills

Lewis mills will have no answer for him. Donovan might drop 50
