Outside of the P6, AAC, and MW, I'd say Grand Canyon and Dayton have the best shots of at-large bid if they falter in their conference tournaments. They've both got solid NET and Kenpom rankings and are two of ten teams with 3 quad 1 wins.

Grand Canyon is excellent but their biggest issue is that they give up too many turnovers. However, they just got back their starting PG after he was recovering from an ACL injury, so that’s a huge return, considering their weaknesses.

As someone who follows George Washington, unfortunately they can be crossed off your list. Their SOS is literally pitiful and their record is a mirage. It’s nice to see them win games — their season has been over by now for the last 5 or 6 years — but I will be shocked if they’re ready to be a top 4 or 5 A-Ten team.

Yep, the A-10 is shaping up to be the best its been in five years or so.

You mentioned Dayton, but Saint Joseph's, St. Bonaventure, VCU and Duquesne are all as good as projected while teams like GW, La Salle and Richmond are exceeding expectations. George Mason, UMass, Davidson and Loyola-Chicago all solid too.

To be honest, the honest teams who have disappointed so far are Saint Louis and Fordham. Fordham's offense post Quisenberry/Moore plain stinks, but I'm curious to see them live again next weekend when they play Dunphy's La Salle squad.

The only team that stinks and was expected to stink is URI.

I think someone posted earlier in the football season that, beyond tuition, room and board there is an "athletic fee" at JMU of $1000 or so. That certainly can't hurt. I seem to recall that my $550 semester bill at UConn in the late '60's (tuition was free, believe it or not) included a $25 (?) "student activity fee" along with room and board.
