Foremost, awesome bounce back season. You have my favorite guard tandem in the country, and they're the best - no debate here.

I haven't logged on in a while, but my previous posts have mainly been about getting UConn and KU into the BIG where they belong - "Expansion Board". The thought of the ACC w/Lville next year does not make me happy. If UConn and KU join the BIG, then it's going to be an ongoing battle between these two conferences for now and forever. Moreover, I'm not a really big football fan as I see the increasing local talent down South too hard to top. Much, much harder to get southern football talent to come up north as opposed to northern basketball talent to go south.

My thoughts on the forthcoming game:

1.) You guys scare the hell out of me and for one reason alone: Appling just aint 100%, I can't believe he even slashed to the basket at the end of the game - and he's 3 shy, big time, right now. All the talk of us being fully healthy again, I haven't bought it, though Dawson is finally back. We need another 2 weeks of practice before we can hang with your guards.

2.) MSG is your crib, which is partly why I want you guys in the BIG. The ACC can have Barclays.

3.) In the 2009 FF, you guys were the favorites, we pulled the upset. I know you got payback last year, but a lot of critics have us winning it all - so I guess we're the media favorites.

Best of luck. My gut says UConn heads to Texas, and no this aint no reverse psychology pick.

Without reading your post, UConn is way better than the UConn team that beat you last in Germany and you are worst.

I won't go in to details. I'll leave that for everyone else to do it for me.

But we fans feel confident going in to Sunday's game and we want payback for the game in Michigan in 2009.

We need to find a way to contain Payne. I suspect Nolan and Brimah will use all 10 of their fouls. We'll need another 3-point shooting performance like tonight.

Uconn fans were treated like garbage at the 2009 final four by Mich St fans. It's time for revenge.

If they are healthy, I'd say both teams are better. UConn definitely is and Harris and Payne are also.

Nice post. I won't go against Shabazz, but Izzo is one of the best in the game. I was definitely rooting for Virginia. Should be a hell of a matchup. Good luck to whichever team wins.

I wouldn't doubt it. It was in Detroit. That city has been decimated by economic hardship - I've been there numerous times over the past few years. It's a tragedy, but I think it's starting to figure certain things out. We shall see.

I'm not a Michigan native, nor do I root Sparty outside of basketball. I'm one of those few national fans that MSU has - not many of us. It was all about Magic, Scott Skiles, Jay VIncent, Steve Smith, etc. growing up & I absolutely followed Magic in the NBA, though post-Magic Lakers I don't like.

Izzo has been a huge, huge bonus as I had no idea what to think of him when he first started coaching.

We've simply had too many flops in since 2000, which sounds ungrateful. A lot of programs don't even get there.

Best of luck.

Not quite. Remember, we won our first NC long ago and I was actually at Auburn Hills when we crushed booger pickers run - that was a fantastic comeback by Cleaves and company. Izzo has more EEs and than Boeheim - and we've rarely flamed out in early rounds like a Boeheim team seems to do every few years.

So far MSU has 2NCS in 8 in final fours (3 losses to UNC). Not quite UConn spectacular. But only you, IU and Ky win more NCs than lose per FF appearances, at least among those with multiple . God, I think it took KU 13 to win their 3 NC. Same goes for Duke and UNC. And those losers in Columbus, OH have only 1 NC to show for 11 - 1 vacated

They're not worse, Appling is obviously hurting with a wrist issue but Payne is a beast now and Dawson and Harris are better now as well.

Not at all. I have not bought into Appling since he signed his letter of intent. He's a 2 trying to run point. I blame him more than anyone for us not getting to FF since 2010. He seems to be a good kid, but too reserved to run point.

You guys have the guards, that's the bottom line.

I wasn't comparing you guys to Syracuse. I was just taking the opportunity to dump on Cuse, any chance I get in fact. That's why I highlighted the black bit. "A lot of programs don't get there." -> Syracuse. Annually.

MSU >>>> Cuse.
Izzo>>>>>Boeheim.

Goes without saying.
