Michigan beats Villanova 64-49

Villanova played well the first half but was overwhelmed by Michigan’s defense in the second. Disappointing to watch. Siegrist had a bad day. Naz Hillman dominated. She’s the real deal.

Was thinking about this and Iowa loss.... not to say they were one-woman teams but thinking how our diversity and depth can help us in a way that we have not had in a long time, and others in the tourney do not have.

Tough second half for Villanova. As good as Hillman and Brown were, holding Michigan to 64 points isn't bad; it's the offense that let Nova down.

Still, Nova overachieved, nominally, by even reaching the second round, and got their first NCAA Tournament win since 2018. Hopefully Denise Dillon can build on it.

Congrats to Michigan for a really strong performance. I was anticipating a Michigan-Baylor rematch in the Sweet 16, but South Dakota had other ideas.
