VanDerveer began implementing a new offense, one she has never run in 36 years of coaching. She admitted there have been stops and starts, occasions when she has had to change something she just taught in the middle of practice.


She told her post players that their new middle names will be "Screen."

This offenses will get the acid test on Nov 17th. The best way to test a new offense
is to go up against the best defense in WBB.

Indeed, the game with UConn this month will be trial by fire, certainly a good way to know early in the season where your new system is and isn't. The last time UConn played Stanford at Maples was an absolute blowout. The penultimate time marked the moment the longest winning streak ever was halted at 90 games. Should be fascinating to watch.

Suspect Tara welcomes the test. Her teams typically improve more during the season than anyone else's - she has a great track record of playing UCONN tougher in the post-season than in early non-conference regular season play.

Well, their offense may be new and improved but last year they gave up 76 and 75 pts. in our two games.
