Has anyone watched a lot of him this year? I haven't gotten the chance to see him much this year, but is he getting all this hype just because he's a 6'6" pg? I know he's averaging around 9 assists/game, but usually you can watch a lottery pick for a game and tell that they're very talented. In this case, other than his size, he doesn't seem to do anything particularly well.

Is this just a below average game for him?

I think that's exactly the case. Seems like one of those Stanley Robinson/Rodney Williams type dudes who looks like he should be a player, but then isn't

He has kind of a punk ass attitude.

He had 15 points, 5 rebounds, 4 steals. Not bad for an off game. He showed an ability to drive and finish some tough, contested shots. He leads the nation in assists. And he's got great size. It's not hard to see why he's a well regarded prospect. With that said, he needs to get stronger, work on his shot, and improve his attitude. I thought he was close to asking for a T once or twice.

He travels a lot. Plus his footwork and his ball handling seem pretty mediocre for an NBA level point guard.

He won't see many in your face smaller guards like we have in the NBA. Thought Boatright's D keep him off kilter all game.

I don't like Syracuse, but Carter-Williams is a very good player. This was a bad game for him and he still had an impact. That kid is going to have a very long career in the NBA.

This isn't Syracuse hate, I just don't see it as him being a high level NBA PG. He's gonna go lottery and like Wes Johnson and Johnny Flynn after a couple of years people are gonna be wondering how the duck did he get drafted so high.

He has had a lot of bad games since the BE schedule started....he was actually pretty good but most down the stretch and a couple throws. He's good but he can't shoot, not great in my eyes. Long way to go and crappy attitude!!

I am not saying he is definitely going to be a big time NBA pg, but he should have a long solid NBA career because of his combination of size, skill and competitiveness.

I was impressed with what I saw from him tonight. Was scoring at will before he fouled out.

But his skills and/or scoring aren't necessarily going to translate to the NBA. If you're that big as a point guard, you need elite handles, vision and first step, but you also need to be able to put the ball in the basket somewhat efficiently. I don't see anything remarkable about him other than his length to be honest.

He likely isn't a high level NBA PG but he is certainly NBA level. He is a good player just battling inconsistency.

Until the end when Boat tired and he got some corners he wasn't having an easy time. NBA has guys as quick as Boat and 6'3"/195.........he will make some money but I doubt stardom is in the future. Well it'll be tough anyway because he went to Syracuse!! At least he's assured of a solid D League contract for years to come!!;)

Just to clarify, I'm not hating on him. I've seen as high as top 7 in mocks and this has been the first time I've watched him all season. He didn't seem like he is a great ball-handler, couldn't tell if he was a great shooter, he was able to drive to the hoop but nothing stuck out to me like he was one of the best players in the NCAA

He definitely needs to work on his footwork, speed, handle, and shot. He has extreme ability and upside. However, he is a ****head.

As good as he can be, he needs an attitude adjustment that her certainly won't get from his coach, Mr. Potato Head

He strikes me as a much better prospect than Flynn. Wes Johnson played a whole different position. I thought he'd be better than he was in the pros, but long wings are a dime a dozen in the NBA.

He leads the nation in assists and the game that made me see his potential was when they beat Louisville at Louisville. He took the game over and hit big shots. He also averages 3 steals a game, that is significant. His handle for his height is good, considering he 6'6 and he is stronger than he looks.

wasn't saying Johnson was a PG, just that he's another Cuse bust

Sorry...wasn't trying to imply you thought they played the same position. Just really thinking about loud.

I don't know how he will be in the NBA, and I do not like him, but he is pretty good. I won't take that way from him.
