Louisville letting Miami hang around. Dana Evans with two THREEs. 30-25 at the 2nd Q media timeout.

Both teams shooting around 50% overall and behind the arc.

Louisville's pair of Georgia Tech transfers haven't been as impactful as I thought they would be, but they're bringing it today. Combined 19 points on 7-8 FG shooting so far.

edit--oops, make that 21; Dixon off the bench is leading all scorers w/ 13

28 of Louisville's 47 shots have been 3's. Evans/VanLith combined are 4-17.

No, but having over 50% of your shots coming from outside the arc is highly unusual.
Yeah, I'd prefer less reliance on the 3. I bet it's not that unusual anymore though, the 3 ball is fool's gold that some teams find hard to pass up.

Cards up 6 w/ 15 seconds left. Looks like they'll survive, but they've been flirting with disaster lately. They have to drop a game eventually.

Interesting that despite hoisting so many 3's, Louisville still shot more FTs than Miami did.

79-76 final. Evans still gets her points even when she's not shooting well. 20 on 5-15 FGs but 8-8 FTs.

79-76 final. Louisville didn't look like a No 1 team today except for short stretches. In fact all the polls and rating services should leave the top slot empty for now.

Another ugly win. Gotta play better soon (Thursday night against UNC?). Not a Top Five team right now.

Historically UConn shoots threes about a third of the time.

I wonder if they wished they had stayed in Atlanta. I think they transferred before a new coach was named. They were really good at freshmen... and if they had stayed.... Tech would have been an upper division ACC team.

That's a good question. I wonder how many transfers regret their decision.

A healthy NC State > Louisville
I can't disagree with that right now.

Sure hope team plays better on Thursday against UNC. Walz said in his post-game presser that the team will get a day off on Friday and then two light practices before Monday night. Not a lot of prep time. Walz is huge on film study and a game plan based on the scouting report.

I hope Cunane plays.

I think State is the more balanced of the two teams. Louisville has the advantage in the backcourt... but State has the clear advantage in the front court. Plus they have six players who can drop 15+ points in any given game. Not sure Louisville has that.
