Now lets hope they do not come out flat to start the second as that seems to be the biggest issue this year. Solid effort in the first though.

Benching CV and Sid Wilson to start the game was a bold and good move by the coach. As Hurley said some players feel entitled to special treatment... having that mindset by even a few players can throw off the team chemistry.

Hurley is doing this the right way. He also knows he has at least 3 studs coming in next year (plus hopefully a healthy Alterique) so he will have a lot of flexibility to bench players who want to put themselves ahead of the team.

Missed the game again yesterday. It sounded like there was some off the court issue with Vital that caused him to start on the bench. It seems like Hurley is battling a situation where some guys do the right thing on the court, and not always off it, while others are the reverse.

I know wins aren't everything at this point, but we do need a few. I want them to finish over .500 and make the NIT. It's an experience the guys could learn from.

Apparently Cinci did not get the message. They went about their business as usual.

Would have been a nice win yesterday. Didn't expect to win, but the fact that we could have if it weren't for the benchings does hurt. Not blaming Danny or the players but a W would have been sweet. So we're still not better than last year.

Couldn't disagree more on a couple of your points:

- We didn't lose because of the benchings.. way too many other factors led to that
- We ARE better than last year (even though W/L record doesn't reflect it)

Many reasons to be excited about the future with what DH is re-building here at Uconn..

Go Huskies!

We're absolutely better than last year, it's not all about wins and losses. The talent level sucks but Hurley is building something that was destroyed, going to take some time.

They might have only been in it because of the benchings. They laid an absolute stinker the game before, and this might have been Hurley's read on how to get that effort/performance to turn around.

They might have been but I can't ignore the fact that once again Christian was the best player, points and rebounds in limited minutes. Also caused many tie ups. We lost by 4 and fouling to stop the clock at the end resulted in a few points. So if he had more playing time we might have pulled it out.

Aside from like 6-19 shooting but yes he and the sophomore Eric Cobb played well. Just wanted to say sophomore Eric Cobb. Cuz he brings it with his strength and bbiq per our announcers

Glad he's only a sophomore. Just needs to get into world-class shape, now!
