Where's DT in this game? She's got 4pts and is 0-for from 3Pt range. Sorry but Maya is the goat wbb player, there's no doubt in my mind about it. You can tell that just by looking at the 2 of them. Maya has the body of a well conditioned athlete.

So the GOAT debate gets settled by one single game and a body-type analysis? Uh ... okay ...
 
That ridiculous comment about Diana notwithstanding, she was indeed awful this game. And if you think that's too strong a word, check out the stat line or watch the game. What a lost opportunity, too, as LA was flat almost all night long. In fact Candice Parker was playing on a tender ankle that she had rolled during shoot around.

Griner and Mitchel played well, and the game was actually tied at the half. But LA elevated their game just a bit starting in the third quarter. And it sure didn't take much, as Phoenix puts just 66 points on the board. Commentators pointed to the brutal travel schedule that Phoenix had in getting to LA that included a two-hour plus bus ride to Boston Logan airport after Sunday night's game in Connecticut.

Who is the all time leading scorer at uconn? That should tell you who the goat is. There's no doubt that maya will have that record before she is done in the wnba as well.
 
Griner sure didn't get the "star treatment" in this game. There were two fouls called on her that were complete BS, the one where Parker was holding her arm down and BG was just trying to pull it away and the one where she is running down the court and Beard jumps in front of her and flops to the ground.

Can't they hire some NBA refs for the playoffs?
 
Phoenix never really got their groove on this year. This having babies stuff is over rated.

Did Uconn or Maya play in this Phx vs LA matchup? Was I watching the wrong game??
 
PHX definitely wasn't very composed and was rattled easily. Unfortunately Emma Cannon was sort of a loose cannon. She had some bone headed reactions, or just actions. They should have sat her after she pushed Parker in the 2nd quarter... She just shoved her... I hope they get their stuff together for the next game.
 
Brondello is guilty of what Mulkey was guilty of. She didn't want to move Griner off the block some and let her shoot the face-up 15 - 20 footer. Griner has that range but was limited to the same game plan of putting her on the block so that she can easily be double and triple teamed. You gotta give the big girl a break every once and a while.
