Griner may lead the league in scoring this season. I think she was leading before the game and added 38 tonight.

Topped her career high by 6 pts.

Indiana definitely hurting for height.

And her career high occurred only a week or so before.

Griner is scoring more this year because she is getting more touches. Last year she took 9.5 shots a game and this year she is taking 14.5 shots per game. Last year she shot 4.8 FTs per game and this year she is shooting 8.5 FTs per game. If this trend continues she will finish as the league leader in scoring and will be a strong MVP candidate.

I have said all along that Phoenix was not using BG to their full advantage because they had so many other players who were taking shots instead of looking for BG. Bonner was a perfect example. You could bet that if she got the ball in her hands before BG got a touch, BG would not get a touch. I am glad to see Brondello realize that BG should be the go-to player, along with DT, of course. I do wish Phoenix would not have allowed Dupree to get away. She was a steady player with a sweet mid-range shot and also a good rebounder. She would be BG's Kiah Stokes.
