Has another UCONN team in recent history started 8-0? Someone asked me & for the life of me, I can't recall! I knew that the experts here would be able to help. THANKS!

Kemba's magical ride started off 10-0, then before that, the 2009 final four team started 11-0.

To add alittle presepective... The 2006-7 team started 11-0, but their toughest comp was Mississippi at home for some early season tourney.

The 05-06 team didn't lose until January 2nd (I believe) against Marquette. I'm not sure what their record was though.

11-0. I've got to think that, record wise, they had one of the best regular seasons in UConn history, no? 11-0, lost to Marquette. Won the next 11, then lost @ Villanova. Won the next 5 and finished the regular season at 27-2.

The 1999 team started out 19-0, before Miami gave them their only loss of the regular season. Props to Miami. Sometimes you just have to tip your cap to the other guys.

also.....1993-94 8-0. then lost to Ohio U
94/95 - 15-0 and got bown out on CB at Kansas
98/99 - mentioned above...he, he
02/03 9-0 with mostely cupcakes, lost at OK
05/06, 11-0 - lost at Marquette
06/07, 11-0, lost at WVU

Erm, that's wrong. We lost to Cuse minus Rip and Jake. Miami then beat us on Senior day.

Miami was our only full-strength loss that year, but we lost to Syracuse at 19-0.

Sorry, I'm slightly familiar with the 1999 team :)

In fairness, it was more of a chatroom joke. We use to drive our favorite Syracuse visitor nuts insisting that the Cuse loss that year never happened, lamenting that Miami cost us an undefeated season, etc. "Props to Miami" became like "fort the ead" for a while.

That Syracuse game required a late push for us to break 40 points. It happened, all right.

Of all people, Edmund Saunders hit a 3 at the buzzer to give UConn 42 points. Ugh, that game sucked.

On the flip side, the next game was on the road against a really good Stanford team and Khalid was absolutely amazing and took over the game, with Rip still out. Getting Jake back for that game was also very important. Freaking love the '99 team.

We never lost to the Cuse in 98/99. Everyone knows that. It's common knowledge. ;)

You're absolutely right. I was getting confused with 1998 and 1999. Miami was the only team to beat us that year. And they beat us fair and square. No excuses - it was just their night.

Props to the Canes. Don't have to like 'em, but gotta respect 'em.
