Running backs give and take lots of hard hits to the shoulders and that means the clavicles.

I'm not an orthopedic surgeon but doubt he can return this year unless it's just a slight crack that could knit in 4-6 weeks.

Even then, the season's over in about ten or eleven weeks so depending on how badly it's fractured we're likely looking at a redshirt year as the best outcome.

Never good to hear or read an injured player say "God has a plan". It might be a great plan, but right now it does not feel so great.

The last two weeks, coupled with an unhealthy dose of borrowed Battered Aggie Syndrome, made my mind race to a conclusion that I don't like. I hope I'm wrong and that Mel can bounce back for himself and us.

Damn that really sucks, Mel is more than just a rb he is a complete weapon in the passing game and the return game. We have a lot of depth so it is next man up. Think he should enter the draft, can definitely make an nfl roster because of his ability to return kicks and be a receiver out of the back field, kind of Reggie bush like. Well hopefully he's back this year.

Saw that Delaware player land on Mel and thought it was the clavicle. The player put his full weight on Mel and he was already down to my eye. He will heal up and be fine next season. Not sure he would want to return this season but it is possible for the last couple games or a Bowl game.

We still have Cam, we still have Victor, we also have Oliver Lundberg Coleman, MJ Flowers and some other young pups on the RB roster.
