Interesting story I heard about YMCA and the Village People. The YMCA was going to sue the Village People for using their name without permission...then their membership started to dramatically increase. They decided not to sue.
In a similar kind of story, Harry Chapin did a song called "Greyhound" The Greyhound bus company expressed interest in using the song in their commercials...until they listened to the lyrics. Somehow they decided the following lyrics would not represent their product very well:
Take the Greyhound
It's a dog of a way to get around.
Take the Greyhound
It's a dog gone easy way to get you down.
