Could he be better used as slot back instead of an RB? I think he lines up in the slot on occasion but it seems he usually comes out of the backfield when used as a receiver.

Of course this leads to the question of who replaces him at RB....but we have to try something different at some point.

I think he could be useful in the slot in terms of physical ability, but the learning curve is pretty steep there since those WR's need to make reads "on the go" to figure out the proper way to finish off the stem of their pass routes. Given our OLine's complete lack of ability to create running lanes, the only RB who might be able to average more than 2 yards per carry would be a bulldozer-type, but I agree with your general premise....trying something new can't make us miss out on a bowl spot MORE than we already have been.
