And that idiot got laid the duck* out. Good for the coach. It should happen every time someone decides to jump onto the field.

What purpose does that serve?

Think he (or any other Wisc student) might think twice before running out there again? I'm sorry, if you do something stupid like that, you deserve what you get.

Did the kid deserve it? Yes.
Would the strength coach have been legally liable if the kid had any medical issues resulting from it? Likely yes.

I don't mind when a dumbas gets slammed, but the coach should be smarter for his own self-preservation. If he's trying to protect his players, trying to escort the dumbas would have been good enough. If a situation arose where he felt he needed to use that level of force, so be it. This probably wasn't that situation, though. But still...a dumbas got slammed... ;)

I doubt it. He doesn't know what the "fan" is going to do or if he even is a fan. Does the kid have a knife? Is he looking to pull a Gamboa (Google Tom Gamboa if you are not familiar)?

No way the school wouldn't protect him and fight any charges like that.

You can fight charges all you want. But I'm guessing that since he is not a member of the security detail, that he would be liable for actions deemed overly aggressive. I'm not a lawyer, so I can't say that with certainty, but that's what I'm guessing would happen. Good for him to put the beatdown on an idiot, but I'm guessing that the law doesn't see it that way...

Who cares about the charges? He did the right thing. You can't look at someone and determine within a split second if the kid is a threat or not. There's a saying among law enforcement. Better to be judged by 12 than carried out by 6.

A good judge would throw that out of court in a New York minute, especially because the kid would have gotten hurt through his own actions stupidity.

The following is the disclaimer on the back of the Sugar Bowl ticket. a similar disclaimer appears on the back of a Rock Cats ticket (I happen to have one right in front of me). I believe it is standard language.

The holder voluntarily assumes all risks incident to the event, including the risk of lost, stolen or damaged property or personal injury. No, I'm telling you that if an idiot enters the field he is an idiot. No assumptions should be made. The kid should be rendered a non threat ASAP. How that's done I don't care. Nobody shot him, stabbed him, or tased him.

I don't have strong opinions either way. And like I said, the idiot had the body slam coming...

Those were just some drunk idiots.
I don't understand your comment given what you've been saying above. I think the guy hip toss the guy received in the video above is the least he should have expected (be it from a security detail or citizen) so as to prevent another potential Gamboa incident...or worse. Being drunk is not a defense. It makes the "fans'" actions even worse.

Your sarcasm meter needs repair.
