what's his connection to the SF 49ers Offensive Coordinator. Networking in the coaching world is amazing. Further, Applebaum being the top OLine coach at an NFL franchise is unusual. Often solid college assistants get plugged in as the also-ran to a long in tooth OLine NFL guy. Like? Matt Rhule went to NY Giants from Temple as the junior OLine guy - I think. (then to HC at Temple).

Matt was a solid guard for us - strength was pulling on traps and sweeps. Glad to see UCONN represented.
