Massey Ratings has South Carolina win probability at 54% with an estimated score of 65-63.

If you go to the games tab on Massey, the predicted score is 65 to 63 in favor of Scar with a 46% chance of a Uconn victory. Not clear why this prediction differs from the “Matchup” tool which predicts the 6 point spread and a 39% probability of a Uconn victory. Either way, the win probability is significant. I am guessing the “Matchup” tool does not factor in a location. The home advantage is usually worth a few points.

If Massey predicts a 54% chance of s.c. winning when Uconn is without Ducharme and Azzi, then what do they presume would happen down the road if these two are back, should Uconn and s.c. once again meet in the tourney? A 65-63 Uconn victory later is the least that Massey would expect if these two are back. Hopefully, this game is every bit as close as the experts are predicting. There is a 4.5 s.c. victory put out there by other experts as well. The average Uconn fan seems to think that s.c. exceeds those expectations. Go Uconn.

After the second quarter at Tennessee, it’s hard to imagine such a line. On the other hand, after the other three quarters, the opposite looks possible.
