FIFY.
This is more a result of OC Mike Locksley than RE. Locksley is a DC native.

We are getting better recruits now. Without Edsall. Defense and running game have been proven to be our strengths. Now we are getting the attention of passing game recruits.
They do have better ratings, so far.We have no idea if we are getting better recruits. Check back in 3 years.

and who hired locksley?
So he doesn't get any credit? So I guess he didn't hire MP? I guess Saban recruits ever single kid to Bama all on his own........
Head coaches are the leaders of a football program. They are ultimately accountable for the success and failures of the football program. Edsall has a great recruiting class (rating wise) Love people who can't give him credit for that.
I don't know what more I can say. Locksley is an absurdly good recruiter in the DC area.
In basically one year from the time Edsall took over Maryland, they landed one 4 star recruit, Abner Logan from Boston, who wasn't in the top 250. In the six months since Locksley has been on the job, Maryland has landed three 4 star recruits and one 5 star recruit. All 4 of those guys are in the Rivals 250, with two being in the top 100 and one being in the top 10.
But I'm sure that's just a coincidence.
Who is the head coach of Maryland? Locksley or Edsall? Do you propose that when announcing a teams class that we say it is the recruiting coordinator's class or the head coaches? If the team loses because the offense gets shut out, should no one mention the head coach for the failures or just the O Coordinator?
Locksley absolutely deserves some credit, as do all coaches who recruit players.
