I think Ohio St needs a win more then Maryland. Charlie Creme has Ohio St making the tournament. They already have 4 losses in the Big 10 Conference Games, and Eight overall. Currently 11-8. Lose tonight, I can see them having 12 or more regular season losses. I don't see the Big Ten getting 9 Bids. If they don't Ohio St is not making the tournament.

Ohio State has a strong RPI (#25) bolstered by having the #3 SOS in the nation. And they have a signature win over Louisville. That will go a long way toward getting them in the tournament, as long as they can finish somewhere close to .500 in conference. This game at home against Maryland is a golden opportunity, but I wouldn't call it a must-win.

The Big Ten is awash in teams in the 25-50 range of the RPI. At this point I'd say the Big Ten has about a 50% chance of getting 9 teams into the tournament. They could even potentially get 10, but for that either Minnesota or Michigan State would have to really start winning some games.
