Within a few days the ESPN pundits will be presenting their F4 and other picks, and this year especially we can presume that it will be almost a clean slate of #1 seeds predicted to reach Mile High territory. And in all likelihood, that will not happen.

For the conference championship preview, Michelle Smith did an overview of the Big 6 before the games began, and although her selection of "favorite" may not have been quite the same as a prediction, the text supplied about the favorite was pretty close to saying that she thought they would win.

So how did it work out? Not so well, after going 0-4 on the ACC, B10+, BEast, and SEC, she finally salvaged some credibility with the incredibly brave nod to Baylor and Stanford, which a blind aye-aye might have also foreseen. But that's what we have sports experts for.

"Lying about your age doesn't make you any younger." Never tell that to a 44 year old claiming 39. I've been posting one eyed for 2 days! Birthday cake can cause serious eye injuries!

Seriously, though, the more unpredicable the tourney gets, as long as it is quality play, the better for women's basketball... as long as it does not upset our apple cart (or gore our ox, etc).
