Greg Robinson would be a great choice. A proven DC who knows Texas politics.

paging Jim Harbaugh.....you're making $5mm and Texas can pay $7mm to $10mm per year.

Texas AD Steve Patterson: "I know this decision weighed heavily on him, and today he told us he’s ready to move forward.”

What about David Shaw? I know he is at his alma mater, and I know he doesn't really have ties to Texas, but they'd be crazy not to at least kick the tires.

He's done an incredible job at Stanford, imagine what he could do with Texas' resources.

Imagine 8-4 and he's pressured to leave. If we go 8-4, the coach gets a raise and an extension!

There are probably a few hundred coaches that could have done better at Texas than Mack Brown did. 8 wins should be the absolute baseline for a program with those kind of resources.

Onlyvold people with rotary phones use phone books. Jerk.

I don't have a rotary phone or a cell phone (at the moment) but I use the phone book, mostly because the "the Phone Book Fairy" leaves one in my driveway at least once a week.

I hate posts like this. "A few hundred coaches," huh? You don't seem to have much of a sense of the history of Longhorns football. Do you remember the 63 point loss to UCLA that closed out the Mackovic era?

And, incidentally, given that he just "resigned," it seems like 8 wins is the baseline these days.
