UConn doubleheader on ESPN2, very cool!

I will have a TV set up streaming the game at my tailgate.

Seems like a good opportunity to get some run out of the new big screens. Throw the basketball game on in the rent.

The hoops game better be playing on the fancy new scoreboard...get people inside a little early
They did it last year for the Michigan State game so i'm sure this will be done. Great use of the new jumbotron.

Gametime gives opportunity to get there nice and early, listen to the first half whilst tailgating and get into the Rent during halftime. Use the new videoboard, sell a lot more concessions, have a lot more people in their seats at kickoff. Brilliant! Not to mention how cool it be to have Ollie end a postgame interview after a win "...and to everyone watching at the Rent, let's go beat Louisville!!" Of course there will be people who will be like "Hmmm the hoops game won't be over right at 8:30, that means our game won't start until 8:45 so I won't need to be in my seat until 9." Also gotta worry about what the crowd will look like when the 4th quarter starts at 10:30 at night in November.

Plus-1,000,000 -- a missed opportunity last year when UConn played (beat!) Michigan State last year before Pitt game.

If they show it on the scoreboard i give them credit for making the best of a bad decision to schedule these games on the same night, but it is still a bad situation. Split the fan base. Insure that attendance at the football game will be worse than it should have been. The ineptitude of this athletic department continues to amaze. For what its worth, I am skeptical that they'll show the game in the stadium.

Agree with scooter not the optimal situation but in terms of importance to future of whole athletic program the nationally-televised home football game that night is much more important than the hoop game. If it's a high-stakes game gotta pick the football game. Maryland has a home football game against Syracuse Nov. 9 so that date probably doesn't work for Terps.

On the other hand thank god no conflicts with BC hoop game. Actually that could be a nice little road trip weekend, MSG for BC hoop on Nov 21 & Philly for football Nov. 23. BC at this point is almost a can't miss. Really, really hope football game will mean something.

Last year they showed the MSU game up until it was time for the band to take the field and do their thing. This coincided with the most important part of the men's game, the final 3 minutes or so.

Yeah, because nobody would schedule a basketball game and a football game back to back on the same night! It isn't like we desperately needed to play Maryland, for heavens sake.

Bring back HFD. You, by far, are the most insufferable person on this board.

There will not be one less football fan at the game due to the BB game scheduled earlier the same night.

They showed the Michigan St game but you don't believe they will show this one?

You are a crotchity old man who needs to go away.

On that one I might disagree slightly. have to take advantage of any opportunity to inflict major damage on ACC /B10 whenever the chance arises.

How many people leak from Rentschler to basketball will depend on how the football season goes. If they are 3-4 you'll probably lose a few hundred in East Hartford. If they are 6-1 the basketball game will lose some to football.

Really could use an extra half hour - I get why networks schedule 2 hours for CBB but this is a special case.

Wow, UConn gets an 7 hours of prime time ESPN and a night home game against a probable top 10 team, and there is still bitching. Wow. If UConn has 5-6 wins going to the Louisville game, the Rent will be packed. I think this is awesome.

Just like there aren't a ton of people coming from the city area for most football games, there aren't a lot of people from the Hartford area that would head to a hoops game in Brooklyn. It's an extra 40 minutes from Grand Central. Pretty much impossible to do unless you are going to get a room and stay over.

You will lose a few but not much. My friends from the city are still hitting the football game because clearly that's the better attraction that night.
