South Florida and Courtney Williams are taking it to the Tigers, 33-21 in the first.

I just hope the Bulls go away by the regional finals. Having said that, I'm glad USF represented the AAC well this evening.

When UConn played Notre Dame for the 4th time in the NCAA's in 2011, we lost. When we played Georgetown for the 3rd time that year in the NCAA's, it was an absolute rock fight.

Makes me sad that I can't root 100% for USF this tournament because of what it might mean for us down the road.

Good Win for USF but they have to play better to beat Louisville on Monday Night.

Courtney Williams took 25 shots to score 17 points. To go with her 17 points she did have 12 Rebounds and 6 Assists

South Florida looked good but surely faded about half-way theough the 2nd half
Williams was banged up quite a bit in the first half and seemed fatigueeed in the 2nd half.
They're a tough team though, might just take Louisville.

I don't think USF is as complete a team as L'ville is. I don't think they make it past the Cardinals...

You've got to be kidding making these comparisons.

I don't have to do a damn thing. Playing and beating one team four times is unchartered territory, and I'd prefer it not be necessary for UConn. That simple.

many years my UCONN breathren get nervous leading into the NCAA's. They invent imaginary monsters. Don't take this the wrong way but I think you've found a stat and believe it has validity. I don't. I'm begging to play USF again in the E8. IMO it's great for the conference. Can you imagine if he can knock off Louisville? That would be super for all of us!

This (USF) isn't Notre Dame in which they are right up there - not quite as good as us - but a top 5 national team. This is South Florida. We can beat them 19 out 20 - at least. I beg for the game - to build up our conference. I think your concern are way unwarranted. Their effort in the 2nd half vs UCONN was nice but the game was decided in the 1sthalf. We've blown them out 3 times. No reason to expect we won't again. In the NBA - teams do win 4 straight and sweep.

I don't want to have to play USF a 4th time. They aren't ND, but they are tough and certainly are accustomed to playing us. I think they will challenge L'ville.

While USF beating Louisville is arguably good for the AAC, it can also be spun that they are only a season removed from being conference foes together in the "old" American and even more years in the oBE, and to be honest, USF was almost always lower than Louisville in the standings. There is also the fact that USF is playing at home.

However, USF beating Kentucky - if it goes that way - would be great for the AAC. Conversely, then getting pasted by UConn only emphasizes the level above the rest of the conference where UConn exists.

That said, I don't expect them to make the regional finals. If they do, I expect them to lose. I don't think there are 3 teams that can give UConn a game (none favored to win) and they are not one of them.

I don't understand. Why don't you think beating Lousiville would possibly help USF in future recruiting?

It presumably would, because USF could say "we made the sweet 16". More-so than who they beat. I wasn't referring to recruiting.

In the greater world of WBB, I don't think the impact to USF's reputation is so major - it is quite well thought of for WBB. They also spent the money to upgrade their basketball facility a few years back - and if older, it wasn't ugly before the renovation.

I have argued - sometimes not posted - that UConn fans always either discount or make too much of USF when they talk about the American. USF was in the BE and went to the tourney on occasion from the oBE. They were not chopped liver and are not a good example of the schools in the American, which cannot all be lumped together and discounted.

Unfortunately, the majority of schools, mostly originally from C-USA, while periodically doing well historically, are high mid-majors. I follow women's basketball from top to bottom and I am not making that up. They are not terrible, but they are the schools that need promotion and upgraded recruiting to make the American more respectable. Not USF, that isn't USF's issue. If there was no UConn, USF would have won the AAC.

Second time in their history they are going into 2nd round.

Five of their top 6 returning and the one leaving seems to be her minutes may be dropping.

It seems they have a lot to look forward to next year.
